You got me on a tangent and now I wanna do some extended artwork that adds to these first four. and village people (like a stand off of some type in an Outbreak style storyline).Īnyway, just geeking out about this. Also, there might sightings of a black fog-like entity that various villagers have seen and maybe at the end or a side story there might be bit of a fight between the monsters/B.O.W. Like they (Salazar since he has access and maybe Luis because he did go to other cities when he was a cop) would also be the ones to call the back up for Leon. If it was a game, I think it would be cool to that part be a tutorial and prologue to the events at the old Umbrella facility. One of the things I don't think I put down was that the village will still play a part in the alternate universe here, but it will just be a minor one. Hence Salazar not only the knowing the geography of the area, but has good relations with the village near him. The lower left corner when Leon is showing the map of the location of the facility to Salazar, luis, and Mendez (as well as them hanging out at the lake in the top picture) I imagined them hanging out with each a lot. I would imagine him being best friends with a quiet and distance, but friendly and hospitable castellan, Salazar. I always imagined ever since watching the ending of Resident Evil 4 (there was a part where a man was playing a banjo to a group of kids) that Salvador was really the village's doctor (with Luis as his sort of student or intern, while helping his grandfather) and occasionally would sing stories, songs, and tall tales to the kids in the village.

Have you checked out the other three? The one with the Merchant, Leon's back up, and Wesker's Mission? Anyway, I'd like to see a banjo playing Salvador. This one was so awesome since I planned it out like a fanfic and thought of the story as I drew in various scenes. Oh man I look back at this artwork and feel as though I gotta build more out of it.

Now I'm geeking on about RE4 and the series in general. While I find RE3.5 fascinating as all get out (even wish they would have kept in some of the combat ideas) and wish there were things in RE4 they would have done differently (like add more village characters who were victims of the Saddler's cult besides just Luis himself and include a backstory for the village itself via diaries and files you find just like in the classic RE games), I am glad they decided to scrap the whole Leon had a massive viral hallucination trip as I think RE games in general do better when you're dealing with tangible enemies as opposed to a more supernatural/unsolved mystery type of intangible entity haunting the character. I just remember it was one of those drawings that really got me going and enjoyed the hell out of drawing it. I think out of the set of four of the RE 4 alternate concept arts I drew, this first one was my most favorite.

If anything, I'd rather do other concept art pieces like this one again as opposed to a full out written story. That's one of the things I love to do when drawing both fanart and my own art, is geek over various things (especially RE) with other fans. All in all, these are concepts I love to geek over about and talk to other RE fans.

Feel free to use these ideas for your story. Not mention any changes between the year this was drawn to this year.

What I wrote for myself was a rough outline, but probably won't post anything since it reads like stereo instructions instead, plus I'm not much of a writer.
